Wild Perspectives, launched in January 2020, provides an opportunity for community-building and story-telling, brought to you by ACES in partnership with The Collective. Join us for an evening with Maz Krogh and Carly Valerious, some of the first women to complete the Elks Traverse. This route is approximately 50 miles and connects the 7 fourteeners in the Elk Mountain Range. They'll share stories and photos from the trail and reflections from their experience on the Traverse. Maz is a ski instructor, physical therapist, and climate advocate, originally from Aotearoa New Zealand. She prefers snowy mountain adventures but has recently discovered that mountains without snow on them are pretty fun too. Carly works in land stewardship and outdoor education, with passion for connecting with the natural world, and the people who inhabit it. She grew up running with her mom in the Midwest, and later discovered the world of trail and ridge running with her sister in the Wasatch Range. Carly graduated from Colorado College with a degree in Environmental Science. She enjoys printmaking, mountain biking, splitboarding, and exploring the backcountry in all seasons.
